César Delgado


Internationally acclaimed Mexican-born César Delgado has been praised for his “generous, lustrous tenor” and “committed, energetic acting” by Opera News.

This 2025/2026 season César Delgado he is making his return with Opera de Bellas Artes – National Opera Company (Mexico) in his role debut as ‘Paco’ in Manuel de Falla’s La Vida Breve. Delgado made his return to Nashville Opera as ‘Edgardo di Ravenswood’ in Lucía di Lammermoor. He just returned to Opera Southwest to perform the soloist tenor in Verdi’s Messa di Requiem. And Delgado is also scheduled to return once again to Opera Southwest to make his role debut as ‘Turiddu’ in Cavalleria Ruaricana’. César Delgado is making his return with Opera in the Park Portland to make his role debut as “Rafael” in the mariachi opera “Cruzar La Cara de la Luna”. César is also returning with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Benjamin Britten’s “Serenade for tenor, horn and strings”.

César Delgado joined the roster of the Metropolitan Opera in season 2023/24 covering the tenor lead role of ‘Arcadio’ in Florencia en el Amazonas. Operatic highlights from previous seasons include: Creation the title role, in the world premiere, of ‘Zorro’ with Fort Worth Opera (USA) & Opera Southwest (USA). As ‘Rodolfo’ in La Bohème in his company debut at Teatro de Bellas Artes (Mexico). The same role of ‘Rodolfo’ in his company debut with San Diego Opera (USA). ‘Edgardo di Ravenswood’ in the new production of ‘Lucía di Lammermoor’ directed by the legendary Brigitte Fassbaender with Regensburg Theater (Germany). As ‘Duca di Mantova’ in ‘Rigoletto’ with New Orleans Opera (USA). As ‘Alfredo Germont’ in Traviata with Opera in the Park Portland Festival (USA). As n‘Nemorimo’ in Elisir d’amor with Monterrey Opera (Mexico). As ‘Don Ottavio’ in Don Giovanni with Gulfshore Opera (USA). As ‘Mr. Rodríguez’ in Tobias Picker’s Awakenings, this production was also recorded for a CD album opera release (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

Mr. Delgado has sung the title role of D. Catán’s ‘Il Postino’ in the New York City Premiere, and he appeared as ‘Arcadio’ in the Latin American premiere of Florencia en el Amazonas (Mexico), This production was also recorded for a CD album opera release. Beethoven’s 9th Symphony in a commemorating the 150 anniversary of the historic Degollado Theater in Guadalajara, México with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra in 2016. Etc.

Mr. Delgado graduated with a Professional Artist Studies from Mannes College for Music (2015) granted with the “President Full-Scholarship”
