Octavio Moreno

Praised for his “sublime baritone” (Arizona Daily Star), “soft-spoken charisma” (The New York Times), and “passionate acting chops” (Arizona Daily Star), Mexican-American baritone Octavio Moreno is recognized for his vocal warmth, dramatic depth, and commanding stage presence.

A graduate of the Houston Grand Opera Studio, and the Academy of Vocal Arts, Mr. Moreno has appeared with leading companies including Lyric Opera of ChicagoHouston Grand OperaSan Diego OperaArizona Opera, and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.

He created the role of Laurentino in the groundbreaking mariachi opera Cruzar la Cara de la Luna, and has performed signature roles such as Rigoletto, TonioMarcelloGermont, and Zurga, among many others.

On the concert stage, he has appeared in Carmina Burana with the Tucson SymphonyMessiah with the Arizona PhilharmonicBrahms’ Requiem with the Fred Fox School of Music Orchestra, and Elijah with the Academy of Vocal Arts Orchestra, as well as with the International Music Festival Orchestra in Belgrade.
